Synopsis
Ein Meilenstein der Filmgeschichte, an dem insgesamt vier Oscar®-Preisträger mitwirken, in einer atemberaubenden Umsetzung vom Erfolgsduo Jerry Bruckheimer und Michael Bay (Armageddon).

Rafe (Ben Affleck) und Danny (Josh Hartnett) sind von Kindesbeinen an die besten Freunde. Das Fliegen ist für die beiden Piloten der U.S. Army die große Leidenschaft. Als Rafe sich als Freiwilliger zu einem waghalsigen Kommando meldet, lässt er nicht nur seinen besten Freund zurück, sondern auch seine große Liebe, die hübsche Krankenschwester Evelyn (Kate Beckinsale). Das paradiesische Leben auf Hawaii hat für Evelyn und Danny jäh ein Ende als die Nachricht eintrifft, Rafe sei gefallen. Über ihren gemeinsamen Kummer kommen sich Evelyn und Danny näher und aus Freundschaft wird Liebe. Da steht plötzlich Rafe vor der Tür! Die Lage droht zu eskalieren, doch als der Angriff Japans auf Pearl Harbor erfolgt, nimmt das Schicksal für die drei eine völlig neue Wendung...
