Synopsis
On the morning of April 12, 1862, a team of twenty-two Union spies led by James Andrews (Fess Parker of DAVU CROCKETT and DANIEL BOONE) infiltrated Northern Georgia, boarded the mighty locomotive known as "The General" and stole the entire train from under the noses of 4,000 Confederate troops. But as the raiders headed north, destroying tracks and telegraph lines behind them, they found themselves relentlessy pursued by railroad conductor William Fuller (Jeffrey Hunter of KING OF KINGS). What followed would become one of the most extraordinary chases in American history as two determined patriots roared through the countryside packed with danger towards a destiny defined by honor.

Jeff York (OLD YELLER) co-stars in this remarkable true story of Andrews' Raiders, an epic adventure of uncommon courage and high-speed suspense that nearly turned the tide of the Civil War and brought a new breed of hero to a bitterly divided nation.
